Tonight, Dodge City Speedway in Howes Cave is offering double points on Cookie Night, sponsored by Adrenaline Rush. Next Friday will feature Thunder race number 3 on NAPA Auto of Amsterdam night.
Utica-Rome Speedway will be back tonight with a $5 general admission night. A regular program will be sponsored by Bliss Environmental & Puleo Landscaping. Utica-Rome will also race on Wednesday, July 15, when DIG Racing Products presents the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series in "The Natural 77", plus crate 602 sportsman, pro stocks, limited sportsman, and 4-cylinders. Utica-Rome will not race next Friday. However, Sunday, July 19 will be the Bill Shea Memorial featuring the DIRTcar big block modifieds and the completion of the Richie Evans Remembered, which will run first and feature free admission.
Albany-Saratoga Speedway has a DiCarlo's Auto Body 358 modified shootout scheduled, featuring all weekly divisions plus the 4-cylinder division. Next Friday, the 360-winged sprint cars of the Empire Super Sprints will be at the 4/10-mile oval. Additionally, Stewart Friesen is scheduled to drive an ARCA car today at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut.
This Saturday and Sunday at the Schoharie Crossing, the Tri-County Old Time Power Association will hold its 49th annual Antique Engine & Tractor Show. On display will be old gas engines, tractors, cars, and more. Admission and parking are free. The event features a food truck, games, and history in action, all located at 129 Schoharie Street in Fort Hunter, N.Y. 12069. Saturday hours are 8:00 am until 4:00 pm, and Sunday hours are 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
Come out Saturday afternoon to the Fonda Fairgrounds and meet your new best friend. You will have the opportunity to give a pet a forever home through a Pet Adoption at the Fonda Speedway Museum and Hall of Fame. This is a rain-or-shine event running from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Taking part in the Pet Adoption event will be the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter and Amsterdam Kitten Adoption. Items that can be given as donations include Purina Complete Cat Chow, Purina Kitten Chow, scoopable cat litter, dog and cat toys and treats, blankets, bleach, Dawn dish soap, Fabuloso, laundry soap, and peanut butter. If you cannot get to the event tomorrow, Bloomfield's Florist at 367 Forest Avenue will take your donated items to the track, as will Down to Detail / A-1 Auto Body in the Perth Broadalbin area.
Fonda Speedway has a busy schedule for July. Beginning tomorrow night, July 11, Palmer's Service Center will present Twin 20-lap features for the modified division; admission prices will be increased for this evening. A very unique format will be used for the second 20-lap modified feature lineup: when the first feature ends, the cars will stay on the track and the winner will pick from a hat to determine the inverted starting order. The idea here is to save teams the expense of using two sets of tires for the night. On Thursday, July 16, the track hosts the Firecracker 50, a Short Track Super Series event where the modified division will have a $7,776-to-win, 50-lap feature and the crate 602 sportsman will have a $1,776-to-win, 30-lap feature. On Saturday, July 18, the 360-winged Empire Super Sprints join the weekly divisions. On Saturday, July 25, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm, One Zee Tees presents the Aim Autism fundraiser chicken barbecue.
In results from last week, the Empire Super Sprints were at Weedsport Speedway on Tuesday night to kick off their annual Speedweek. Lightnin' Larry Wight won the 25-lap feature, with Shawn Donath and Jordan Poirier filling out the podium. Danny Varin of Fonda finished sixth, Stewart Friesen of Sprakers finished eighth, Jeff Trombley of Altamont finished 22nd, and unfortunately, Bobby Hackel VI of East Greenbush did not start the B-main. In the DIRTcar 358-Modified Series 50-lap feature, Jimmy Phelps earned the win over Mat Williamson and Tim Sears Jr. Amy Buff finished fifth, Jordan McCreadie seventh, Peter Britten eighth, and Andrew Buff 17th.
Night number two on Wednesday took the ESS up to the big half-mile known as the "Nasty Track of the North" at the Can-Am Speedway in LaFargeville. Unfortunately, after the heat races were completed, the weather won. That same Wednesday, the Short Track Super Series paid a visit to the Track of Champions for the annual Firecracker 50, featuring a 50-lap, $7,776-to-win feature for the modified division. The pits were full with STSS teams and local competitors eager to race. Unfortunately, a shower hit around 6:00 pm, and after crews continued to work the racing surface, it was decided that more showers were on the way and it was best to postpone. Thursday, July 16 will be used as the makeup date.
On Thursday, it was on to Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon for the ESS. The 25-lap, $2,500-to-win feature was won by Dylan Swiernik over Zach Sobotka and Jordan Poirier, with Danny Varin finishing seventh. The Jackson’s Auto Outlet/Taylor’s Trailers DIRTcar Crate 602 sportsman division 25-lap feature saw Tyler Corcoran claim the victory over Matt Guererri and Kyle Demetro. In the JB's Line Cleaning & Plumbing DIRTcar Pro Stock division 20-lap feature, A.J. Walters scored the win over Andy Graves and George Cushman. Graves was driving the Todd Hoffman-owned number 8, normally driven by Nick Stone. In the 3 Bastards Brewing DIRTcar 358 modified division 30-lap feature, Payton Talbot earned the win followed by Marc Johnson and Ajay Potrzebowski.
The Land of Legends in Canandaigua hosted the Super DIRTcar Series big block modified division, where Tim Fuller led all 60 laps to earn the win followed by Alex Payne, Matt Sheppard, Alex Yankowski, Peter Britten, Jack Lehner, and Felix Roy. In the CRSA 305-winged sprint car feature, Lance Dusett earned the win over Tyler Graves and Dalton Herrick.
On Friday night at Albany-Saratoga Speedway, Justin Stone of Middlebury, Vermont won the 35-lap Next Generation Roofing DIRTcar big block modified division feature, capturing the Back-to-Back bonus. Jack Lehner and Anthony Perrego, driving the 3D as a substitute for Matt Delorenzo, completed the podium. The Doug Wholey’s Ideal Excavating DIRTcar crate 602 sportsman division 25-lap feature was won by Craig Wholey.
Kreig Heroth of Fort Plain was in Groveton, New Hampshire racing on the asphalt at Riverside Speedway and Adventure Park, driving to a fifth-place finish with the winged USNEPower 350 SMAC Series supermodifieds. On Saturday at the 5/8-mile Oswego Speedway, Otto Sitterly of Canajoharie won the Novelis Supermodified feature while driving the John Nicotra 7. Demetrios Drellos of Queensbury was racing at Stateline Speedway in the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH late model series 30-lap, $4,000-to-win feature. Drellos, who was Rookie of the Year for 2025, won his first feature event.
Sunday evening, Glen Ridge Motorsports Park saw a very full pit area with the DIRTcar Sportsman East Series, with bonus contributions bringing the winner’s prize to $2,000. Connor Crane scored the 40-lap feature victory over Zach Buff and Tanner Warner. Drivers also earned points toward the CDRA Series Championship, as this event served as the Montgomery County Brawl for the CDRA Series. In the DIRTcar 358 modified division 35-lap feature, "The Flyin’ Onion" Tony Farone earned the win ahead of Lance Willix and Andrew Buff. In the Yurkewecz Auto Crushers DIRTcar pro stock division 20-lap feature, Chuck McSpirit was chased across the finish line by Steve Cosselman and Ivan Joslin. The Limited sportsman division feature was won by Preston Trautschold. The 15-lap mini sprint feature winner was Tom Alloco. The All-Star slingshot division 15-lap feature was won by Lucas Cole, and the 12-lap Junior slingshot division feature was won by Harlan Heroth.
The Super DIRTcar Series was at Cornwall Motor Speedway in Long Sault, Ontario on Tuesday for the O’Canada 75, where 42 cars signed in. Starting third on the field, Stewart Friesen of Sprakers took over the lead around lap nine and led all the way to the checkered flag, followed by Alex Yankowski and Alex Payne. Other area drivers finished in the following order: Justin Stone 16th, Felix Roy 18th, Mike Mahaney 19th, Jack Lehner 20th, and Jackson Gill did not qualify. For Friesen, it marked his 56th career SDS victory.
