Busy Times in Schoharie
SCHOHARIE - Though the school year is entering its final stages, it is still busy at both Schoharie elementary and junior-senior high school.
At the school board's April 23 meeting, elementary school teacher Megan Langan outlined the goings on in the schools for April.
Among the April goings on were:
* The high school statistics class worked on several hypotheses including which brand of chocolate chip cookies had the most chips and global warming.
* Eighth grader Max Rosenthal went to the Capital Region science program at RPI.
* Students in Mrs. Vickers' class celebrated Earth Day with worms and a visitor from Hessian Hill Farm.
* High school student Caroline Borst is a finalist for FFA president.
* Ninth graders did experiments about shapes.
* Mrs. Ebert's class welcomed families ate green eggs and ham.
* Mrs. Langan's class is raising money for the Schoharie Valley Animal Shelter and will take a field trip there in May.

In other action, board members:
* Heard that the recent Community Engagement Night was well attended and featured a talk with a State Trooper about anger management, suicide awareness, and other issues. Another engagement night was held on April 30 to discuss strategic plans and districts goals on a parent education night.
