Central Bridge Feeds Holds Grand Opening

CENTRAL BRIDGE — Saturday June 13, was the Central Bridge Feeds LLC Grand Opening! This mill has been in our community for so many years and thank you to Duane Spaulding and Dave Fatigate, it is open again. The mill has been open for months now but these two amazing men wanted to give back to the community.  

If you live in the community, you have witnessed the transition of this place. There is a beautiful sign at the end of the road as well as on the building.  Mr. Spaulding and Mr. Fatigate are very proud of their investment in history,  community,  and agriculture.  

Saturday had a big tent filled with tables and chairs for people  to sit and visit at. Not only could you socialize,  you could also enjoy a free chicken  dinner. JDs chicken was on site with their marinated  chicken dinners.  If you have not eaten a meal from them, you are missing out! They marinate the chicken, in their own sauce, add salt potatoes, corn, a roll and coleslaw. Community members left full and satisfied.  I reached out to JDs chicken to see how many they made, they told me 85! I was surprised, there were four of them. I brought home the dinners, so it was a cook free night for me. JDs just began last year.  They are a small family run operation out of Sharon Springs.  JDs also informed me they will be at the Ranch in Carlisle this weekend,  if you want to stop in for food and motor fun. 

Not only was your lunch and or dinner free, your dessert was too! Mr. Spaulding and Mr. Fatigue had an ice cream truck on site too! Drifters is a beautiful truck inside with sprinkle decor and bright eye-catching paint outside.  They are also a small family run operation from Duanesburg.  They do this on the side and offer a handful of flavors at events. I chose the cookie monster ice cream. It was blue, creamy and filled with cookie pieces and did not disappoint. My husband and son Larson choose the Italian ice. They scooped 104 and bowls that day! 

There was also a steam engine on site too! It was beautifully redone and the owner was very proud to show it off. It took him 20 years and a lot of funds to get this beautiful piece of history back rolling.

The Central Bridge Ambulance and Fire Truck were also on site. Looking  up on the hill to the mill, there was an overwhelming sense of community. Chris Tague stopped in to show his support.  Mr. Taugue is from Schoharie County and has known Mr. Spaulding for years. They are both also in your local Farm Bureau.  

Mr. Spaulding has been a large advocate for 97 Milk, for the past 6 years. He was a big part of getting whole milk back in school. So with Mr. Spaulding fashion,  there were three large coolers full of delicious Dygert whole milk and chocolate milk. 

The last part of the day Clapper's Critters was asked to join. We brought our goat Snickers. One of our Kunekune house trained pigs, Wilbur. Also a pair of Seabright Bantam chickens  Fred and Ginger. We answered questions  about our animals,  walked them around and let people  feed them treats. 

It truly was a great day for all who attended.  Mr. Spaulding and Mr. Fatigate  have a very giving  heart. Everything that day was free to the community.  The Mill is always  looking  for new customers,  be sure to stop in and give them some business.  Thank you both for what you do for our county and beyond.
