Duanesburg Ambulance Corps Celebrates 55 Years
DUANESBURG - The Duanesburg Volunteer Ambulance Corps (DVAC) will proudly celebrate 55 years of continuous service to the Town of Duanesburg and surrounding communities with a special anniversary event on Saturday, June 13, 2026.
The community is invited to join a full day of activities beginning at 9:00 a.m., featuring a vendor fair, live music, and a children’s play area. At 12:00 noon, DVAC will host an official ceremony recognizing its history, honoring those who have contributed to its success, and celebrating the lives touched through decades of dedicated emergency medical service. A chicken barbecue will follow the ceremony.
Founded in 1971, the Duanesburg Volunteer Ambulance Corps has grown from a small group of dedicated volunteers into a lifeline for the region, providing critical emergency medical care when it matters most. For more than five decades, DVAC has remained steadfast in its commitment to compassionate, professional service, continually evolving to meet the changing needs of the community and the ever-advancing demands of the emergency services field.
“This milestone is not just about our past,” said Bob Cuttita, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “It’s about honoring the volunteers, families, employees and community members who have made this service possible and reaffirming our commitment to serve for generations to come.”
The noon celebration program will include:
Historical reflections from individuals who helped build and sustain the organization
Personal stories of impact from community members
Expressions of gratitude from patients and families
Remarks from distinguished guests and elected officials, including Congressman Paul Tonko, Assemblymen Angelo Santabarbara, and other regional leaders
The event will conclude with remarks from Town Supervisor Bill Wenzal and closing comments from DVAC leadership.
This celebration highlights not only the history of Duanesburg Ambulance but also the enduring partnership between the organization and the community it serves.
