Dynamic paintings by Cena Pohl Crane on display at Pine Hill Community Center Gallery

PINE HILL, NY — Cena Pohl Crane presents new artwork in a solo exhibition, curated by Brett Collins. “Energetic Entanglement, Paintings by Cena Pohl Crane” opening at the Pine Hill Community Center Gallery, 287 Main Street, Pine Hill, NY November 7 with a reception from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. The show will run through the holidays to January 9, 2027.

Utilizing deeply saturated colors and expressive brushwork Cena Pohl Crane’s oil paintings on canvas begin as gestural explorations without a fixed preconception of what the work will communicate. “My paintings illuminate unseen forces: the quantum and the cosmic; the interpersonal and the intrapersonal transformations of blood, breath and body; the daily onslaught of digital information. My hope is viewers feel an energetic response to the imagined figures and spaces.”

The artist, whose studio is in the Commons Building on Main Street in Margaretville, studied painting at Washington University in St. Louis and in Florence, Italy. A regular yoga practice for 25 years informs her personal understanding of energy (“prana”), perception, and how bodies visually move in space.

She hopes viewers of the exhibition leave with a heightened awareness of energies around them and how those influence their interactions with the broader world.
