Friday Rainouts Result in Cancellations
Auto Racing News
Positive news this week comes from those close to Jackie Lape as her recent surgeries were successful and she is on the road to recovery.
Let’s start this week with a safety tip. This is for ALL race teams in every division. You MUST have your driver practice exiting their race car. While dressed in their complete racing gear. Why? Because in the event of an accident/fire or any other emergency situation. Your driver needs to be able to safely exit under pressure and possibly in total darkness.
An added note here, when most drivers exit the track and return to their pit stall. The first thing that they do is remove their gloves and then remove their steering wheel. However, with their gloves still on, your driver needs to practice removing their steering wheel and unfastening their belts and exiting the car.
