The Jefferson Historical Society will be featuring a dramatic presentation about a Revolutionary War encounter.
JEFFERSON - The Jefferson Historical Society will present a dramatic, costumed presentation by Drama from the Past (Gary Petagine and Sean Grady) that tells a fascinating story from the American Revolution.
Entitled "Guided by Conviction," the presentation features Major Benjamin Tallmadge and Colonel John Jameson, Continental Army officers of the 2nd Light Dragoons stationed in Westchester County, New York. The two officers disagree about what should be done with a suspicious traveler who has been captured by local militiamen.
The event will be held on Saturday, August 8, at 2:30 p.m. in the Jefferson Methodist Church, 158 Main Street, Jefferson. Parking is available behind the church.
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served following the presentation. Donations are welcome.
**This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York Legislature and administered by CREATE Council on the Arts.
