Lady Rams Softball Dominates Margaretville in Delaware League
Lady Ram Lilly Temple just misses the tag at third base in a win against Margaretville Tuesday.
SOUTH KORTRIGHT- The South Kortright/Andes (SK/A) softball squad heftily defeated Margaretville at home Tuesday 22-7.
According to SK/A Coach Dawn Brown, it took the team a few innings to clean up their level of play and the bats began to connect, leading the Lady Rams to victory.
SK/Andes took the lead in the bottom of the third inning as senior Madysen Reeves crushed the ball for a home run (7-4) and the Lady Rams never looked back.
SK/A widened the lead in the sixth inning, scoring six runs on two hits.
Hurler Neleh Brown earned the win for the Rams and the Blue Devils had seven hits and four runs (three earned) in the loss. The junior struck out four and walked four in the win.
For Margaretville, Kendra Balcom took the loss and was relieved in the fifth inning by Ella Curlew-Siclare. She struck out five and walked nine.
Reeves, Brown and Kendall Howard each collected a pair of hits in the win. Gabriella Bene, Charleigh Brown and Reeves each drove in two runs for the Lady Rams.
SK/Andes ran aggressively on the base path with 21 stolen bases.
SK/A will compete in sectional play (opponent is unknown as of press time).
