Order of Protection Violation Leads to Conviction and 3 years of Probation

SIDNEY – District Attorney Shawn J. Smith announced today that Diezel Jester, 20, of Sidney, pleaded guilty in the Village of Sidney Court on September 1, to one count of Criminal Contempt 2nd, a class A Misdemeanor.

On June 4, 2026, Village of Sidney Police were notified of an Order of Protection Violation. Jester was brought in for Central Arraignment Processing off of a warrant that was lodged for his arrest, due to the evidence brought forward for the violation.

Jester appeared before the Honorable Andrew Skrobanski at the Village of Sidney Court on September 1st and pleaded guilty to one count of Criminal Contempt 2nd, a class A Misdemeanor. Honorable Skrobanski sentenced Jester to 3 years of probation supervision, court-imposed fines and surcharges, and a court ordered DNA submission for violating the Order of Protection.

First Assistant District Attorney Susan Mallery prosecuted the case.

District Attorney Smith commended the victim for coming forward and reporting the violations. Smith thanked the Village of Sidney Police for their work on this case.
