Schoharie County Trail Association Starts Fund Drive to Keep Cobleskill Creek Trail Open

COBLESKILL - The Schoharie County Trail Association is asking users of the Cobleskill Creek Trail to help raise $1,800 to maintain liability insurance and keep the trail open. The trail is located on SUNY Cobleskill and Faculty-Student Association property in Warnerville and is maintained through the efforts of the Schoharie County Trail Association, working with dedicated volunteers and public support.

The Cobleskill Creek Trail is one of our community's favorite places to walk dogs, exercise, enjoy nature, and spend time outdoors. Residents, students, and visitors use this scenic one-mile trail because it is free, accessible, and close to home. To keep the trail open, we are required to maintain liability insurance under our agreement with SUNY Cobleskill and the Faculty-Student Association.

If donations exceed $1,800, the funds will support ongoing maintenance, and volunteer efforts to preserve the trail such as building a new pedestrian bridge across Cobleskill Creek to connect the trail to NY State Route 7 and Cobleskill-Richmondville High School. We hope this bridge leads to future trail expansion.
