Special Industry Reading of The Springvale Armadillo June 22
June 22nd at 7pm | 555 West 42nd St.
MARGARETVILLE — The Open Eye Theater of Margaretville and The Masterworks Theater Company will present a special industry reading of “The Springvale Armadillo” by Donald Loftus on Monday, June 22, at Theater 555 in New York City.
The free reading will begin at 7 p.m. at the theater, located at 555 West 42nd St. Reservations are recommended.
The drama, inspired by a true story, follows a story of survival and reunites the original cast from the world premiere production staged last fall by The Open Eye Theater in Margaretville. The New York City reading marks a new step for a work that began in the Catskills and is now reaching a broader theater audience.
The reading will be directed by Michelle Macau. The play was written by Loftus, with music by John Sheridan. The cast features Pat Williams Hoffstatter, Pamela Joy, Anne Saxon-Hersh and Keith Weiss.
The Open Eye Theater said the event reflects its continued effort to develop professional theater in the Catskills while connecting local artists and audiences with collaborators beyond the region.
Reservations may be made at theopeneyetheater.org/events-tickets/the-springvale-armadillo-2026.
