Summit Events 7/3-10
Happy 4th of July.
The Summit Lake water is pretty nice; I finally did some floating on the lake. Not quite ready to jump in yet. Heard a gigantic frog croaking at the lake.
Chickens are not happy with me keeping them locked up in the chicken run and coop most of the day, but if I want to have living chickens I have to. Also have to keep the original four separate from the three newbies for a while because the rooster attacked a newbie.
Thanks to Summit Neighbors for the corner of Rte 10 and Charlotte Valley Rd.
It’s fun to watch some of the Scottish Tartan Army, Norwegian Viking Row and American Outlaws soccer fan videos online.

History
July 16, 1914 Jefferson Courier- One of the worst storms that over visited this section was central over the Charlotte Valley and parts of the towns of Summit and Jefferson last Friday. Near Morseville it is reported that four inches of water fell in less than two hours. Crops wore badly damaged and hail stones as large as small eggs broke out windows and did much harm. At Summit the steeple on the M.E. church was shattered by lightning which followed down the stove pipe, singed the carpet but did not cause fire. Timbers were thrown from the steeple for some distance.
