LEXINGTON - Thank you to those of you who came to the West Kill/Lexington Community hall on Aug. 8. get your copy of the Self-Guided Cemetery Tour of the Lexington Revolutionary Soldiers. If you were unable to make it to the hall on Aug. 8 to pick up the guide, copies will be available in the History Room in the Lexington Municipal Building for you to enjoy the historic tour at your leisure.
The next Lexington Farmers Market is Saturday, Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. under the pavilion at the Lexington Municipal Building, 3542 Route 42, Lexington.
Saturday, Aug. 15 is the annual Brooks Chicken BBQ at the Jewett Fire Department at the firehouse on Route 17, Jewett from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Ashland Community Church will have a bake sale at the same location and time.
Monday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m., is the annual meeting of the West Kill Community Cemetery Association at the West Kill/Lexington Community Hall, 141 Spruceton Road, West Kill.
The Kaaterskill UMC will be holding a Roast Beef and Peach Shortcake Dinner on Tuesday, Aug. 18 at the Tannersville Rescue Squad Building. Seating is from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and takeouts are 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Free will offering.
If you like to play Bingo, you’re in luck. The VFW Post 1548 located at 5565 NY 23, Windham, holds Bingo the first and third Thursdays of the month. Thursday, Aug. 20 arrive at 6 p.m. and games start at 6:30 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 21 is Senior Citizen Day. Visit the Hunter Library, 7965 Main Street, Hunter and receive a free coffee coupon for Stewart’s Shops.

Monthly Medicate Minutes Representative of the Greene County Human Services Department will be available with information and for questions at 11:45 a.m. at the Jewett Municipal Building on Friday, Aug. 28. Lunch is served at noon and open to all Greene County residents age 60 and older. A voluntary contribution of $4 is suggested. Please call the center at least a day in advance to reserve a meal at 518-263-4392.

The Friends of Lexington are holding a Barn Dance and Potluck on Saturday, Sept. 19 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the West Kill/Lexington Community Hall, 141 Spruceton Road, West Kill. BYOB. There will be a caller and live performance by Homespun Occasions. Suggested $10 donation. All proceeds will go to the West Kill/Lexington Community Improvement Association.
Greene County Vet2Vet’s third annual Community Day is Saturday, Sept. 19, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Angelo Canna Town Park, Cairo. All are welcome. Free admission, BBQ lunch provided, games, live music, food, raffles, corn hole competition and bounce house. The Greene County Senior Nutrition Program menu for the week of Aug. 17 – Aug. 21 is as follows: Monday – Sloppy Joes, broccoli, white rice, tropical fruit; Tuesday—Turkey burger with peppers and onions, carrots, Au Gratin potatoes, rice pudding with raisins; Wednesday—Tortellini, sausage, Italian mixed vegetables, chocolate chip cookies with applesauce; Thursday—Birthday celebration—Roast turkey dinner with gravy, cranberry sauce, green beans, mashed potatoes, stuffing, birthday cupcake; Friday—Chicken Cobb salad, potato salad, fresh fruit. All persons 60 and older are invited to attend. Meals served at noon, suggested $4 donation for each meal. Congregate reservations are required by noon at least a day in advance. If you reserve a meal and are unable to attend, please call as soon as you can to cancel.
