PRATTSVILLE – Future success to all the members of the graduating classes in our local schools and, in particular, Gilboa Conesville graduates.. May your futures be filled with all that you hope to accomplish. And congratulations to the members of this year’s Junior Prom Court, Class of 2027, at Gilboa Conesville CS, as follows: Queen Quincy Olmstead – King Ashton Kalamaras; Princess Aliah Cruz – Prince Cody Caira; Duchess Emily Maxim – Shane O’Hara. The best of luck and all good things in their future for the newly married couple Faith and Brandon Brainerd. They exchanged vows at Kirkside in Roxubry on Saturday, June 6. One hundred plus family and friends helped them celebration their special day. We wish them good health and continued success in all their endeavors. Great grandmother Janet Brainerd was able to attend their wonderful day but she did admit she was tired at the end of the day.
Just a suggestion for either a visit to the Prattsville Town Hall or calling 518 299 3215 for information for the upcoming Prattsville “Note to the Future” event to be held in Prattsville on August 29, Saturday, in recognition of our Country’s 250th Birthday. The information for this celebration is quite extensive and suggest you check it out for how you would like to be involved. Organizations, vendors, etc. etc. are invited to participate. Stop by the Zadock Pratt Museum for their exhibit honoring our veterans.
It was another successful Chicken BBQ for the Reform Church of Prattsville. Who can not enjoy the chicken halves barbecued by the gentlemen of the Reform Church? And then you get to enjoy the locally mafe potato salad, baked beans, AND those very delicious and tempting pastries.
Marianne Krauss and Ginny Gurley attend the Greene County American Legion Auxiliary meeting in Greenville, Saturday, June 6. The Greene County American Legion Auxiliary wishes to thank the Greene County Legislature for funding two young girls, the Greene County ALA is funding the third, all in Greene County Junior classes to attend Empire Girls State in late June and early July at Brockport. All participants in Empire Girls State and Boys State come home with a positive response to their attendance at either one of these programs. Thank you to our young students for participating and thank you to our Legion Posts and Auxiliary Units for facilitating these programs for Americanism and for their financial support.
Yard Sales and Craft Fairs are springing up for your treasure hunting pleasure. The West Kill/Lexington Community Association will be hosting a Yard Sale at the Community Hall in West Kill on Saturday, June 13, 10 AM to 1 PM. There will be deals and steals for all. The UMC of the Mountain Top has their Thrift Shop open on Main Street, Hunter, for your browsing pleasure. Their hours are Tuesdays, 11 AM to 2 PM, Thursdays, 12 to 3 PM and Saturdays. They always have deals and more deals for anything you can imagine you need, or want.
Just a reminder of the memorial services for Jean Rikard Monnen and Danny Rikard on Saturday, June 13, 12 – 2 PM, at the Prattsville Firehouse. You are invited to stay after that for sharing of your remembrances of the Rikard family.
