MARGARETVILLE - Margaretville Village Board discussed progress on the $4.5 million New York Forward grant award during a brief monthly meeting on Aug. 18th.
The deadline for project proposals has been extended to Sept. 13th.
Mayor John Hubbell is meeting with architects later this week to review ideas for the amphitheater project, which will be proposed as a NY Forward project.
A public workshop is scheduled Thursday, Aug. 27, at 6:30 p.m. at Margaretville Telephone Company, 61 Academy Street. Individuals can attend to propose ideas and discuss possibilities for the $4.5 million grant.

In other business, the board approved charging $25 for title searches, which aligns with Middletown fees. The village had previously not charged for the search.
A light shield will be installed at a NYSEG street light along Orchard Street.
Water rates were adjusted to clarify that for 3 months after a property sale, the new owner will be charged a flat rate of $50. The seller will also be charged $50. Any usage over 5,000 gallons a month during that time will be charged to the seller at $10 per 1,000 gallons.
The annual Cauliflower Festival was approved to be held at the village pavilion on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Trustee Iris Meed questioned brush and weed buildup along a stream bed. Hubbell said he would check with County Soil and Water, but did not believe there was any funding to work on such a project.
The next regular meeting of trustees is scheduled Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 5 p.m.
