Our mission
The Mountain Eagle connects rural communities through trusted reporting, durable local information, and practical digital tools. We aim to strengthen the civic and commercial life of Schoharie, Delaware, Ulster, and Greene Counties by making local news, events, notices, advertising, and support resources easier to access in one place.

We work to verify facts before publication, distinguish clearly between reporting and opinion, and correct significant errors promptly when they are brought to our attention.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made separately from advertising, sponsorship, political pressure, and personal interests. Paid placements and advertising are not treated as newsroom coverage.
