Community Profiles

A durable public home for the businesses, organizations, and institutions that shape our region.

More than a listing

A profile becomes part of the community record

A Mountain Eagle community profile gives a business, nonprofit, public institution, church, historical society, service organization, or other local group a stable place within our county directories.

People can find profiles by county, town, category, or keyword. A profile can carry the organization's description, cover image, address, contact information, hours, website and social links, and other useful public details.

The real value grows over time. Published articles and photo albums can be connected to the exact profile they concern. Instead of standing alone, each new contribution adds context, history, and another path through which readers can discover the organization.

Publish once, travel farther

Give local information a life beyond one social post

Posting directly to social media can be useful, but the post is usually tied to one platform and quickly moves out of view. An approved Mountain Eagle contribution becomes a durable publication with its own web address and a place in a larger local information network.

Search discovery

A published article has a permanent page that search engines can index and readers can find later.

News distribution

Articles may appear in Google News or services that read our RSS feeds. Inclusion by outside services is never guaranteed.

Social reach

We share published work through Mountain Eagle social channels. Contributors and organizations can then re-share that published source.

Visible authorship

Published work is connected with its author profile, byline, biography, and other contributions.

Organization context

The work can be attached to the exact community profile it concerns, where it remains visible with related coverage.

Print consideration

Approved contributions can enter the newspaper print queue for editorial consideration when timing, space, and fit allow.

A useful rhythm: contribute the story, event, press release, or photo album through The Mountain Eagle, then share the published version. Readers receive a credible source they can revisit, while the author and organization gain a lasting connection in the regional record.
People and organizations

Community Contributors make participation visible

When a person connected with an organization contributes a published article or photo album associated with its profile, that person's public author card can appear in the profile's Community Contributors section.

This does not expose an organization's private membership list. Associated people who have not contributed do not appear, and neither do people who lack a public author profile. The connection becomes visible through participation.

Over time, profiles can show not only what an organization says about itself, but also the people, stories, events, and images that document its role in community life.

Editorial review still applies

Submitting content does not guarantee publication or print placement. Staff review community submissions for relevance, completeness, and editorial fit. Advertising and sponsorship do not purchase editorial coverage.
