Windham-Ashland-Jewett-Prattsville-Lexington (WAJPL) Golden Agers are preparing for their annual “Show & Tell” arts and crafts exhibit and luncheon, September 21, at 1 p.m., at the seasoned citizens center in the town of Windham. A series of workshops have taken place throughout the summer, calling on the talents of instructors including Albin Beckmann (center), guiding Sharon Servis-Clancy (left) and Lori Gustin through the intricate stained-glass process. The WAJPL program, led by longtime president Lula Anderson, welcomes folks from beyond the five towns, including Gustin, who hails from Gilboa while Servis-Clancy calls Jewett home.
The artist at work, Walter Anderson, with his acrylic painting of driving through an imagined German landscape and mountainside village where he would someday like to journey in person.
Surrounded by the paintings of her students (with one of her own butterfly drawings in-hand), art instructor Amy Royal is a retired school art teacher and active pastor with the mountaintop United Methodist Church
Daughter Lynne Taylor (left) and mother Sue Taylor beautify the workshops and their garden statues (not including the plant which is from Mother Nature). Mom turned 90 years-old at the end of August.
Bringing arts and crafts life to inanimate objects, Leta Mallory makes the trip from Tannersville to the WAJPL center in Windham, contentedly giving away her finished pieces to friends, neighbors and anyone whose eye is caught.
