CATSKILL — Greene County is blessed with some truly wonderful senior groups. Throughout the year, they organize exciting trips and adventures that give local seniors the opportunity to explore new places, visit old favorites, make lasting memories, and enjoy the company of good friends. Some trips are close to home, while others take seniors on exciting journeys far beyond our county lines.
For many seniors, these trips are something they eagerly look forward to. They provide companionship, laughter, and a chance to stay active and engaged in the community. Unfortunately, while some are fortunate enough to afford these outings without worry, others find that rising costs make participating just a little out of reach.
The members of the Catskill Silver Linings Club believe that no senior should have to stay home while their friends are out creating memories simply because money is tight. That's why they are hosting a special fundraising event designed to bring our entire community together for a great cause.
On Saturday, July 25th, the Catskill Silver Linings Club will hold a Senior Social filled with fun, friendship, and excitement. Guests can enjoy raffles, prizes, a 50/50 drawing, and a Specialty Cake Sale featuring delicious homemade treats. Every dollar raised will help local seniors participate in the wonderful trips and activities that make life a little brighter.
The event is open to everyone—young and old alike. Whether you come to support a loved one, enjoy the festivities, purchase raffle tickets, or simply spend time with neighbors, your presence will help make a difference in someone's life.
Doors open at 11:00 AM at 15 Academy Street, Catskill, NY 12414.
If you would like information about attending, volunteering, donating, or finding ways to help make this event a success, please contact Jean Close at 518-364-1484 or 518-943-9043.
As we grow older, life can sometimes become more challenging. Transportation costs rise, budgets become tighter, and opportunities can become harder to reach. Yet one thing never changes—the importance of friendship, community, and belonging.
No one, regardless of age, wants to sit at home watching others enjoy life's adventures because they are a little short on cash.
Together, we can change that.
Let's come together as a community and show the seniors of Greene County that they matter, that they are appreciated, and that we care. A small act of kindness, a raffle ticket purchased, a cake bought, or simply showing up can help ensure that another senior gets the chance to share in the laughter, friendship, and unforgettable memories that these trips provide.
Because growing older should never mean being left behind.
I am your Bro LJ James and I will see you around the Mountain!
