SEWARD - We are halfway through August. Summer is wrapping up. I love to decorate for Fall but I will miss the summer sun and the longer days . Fall brings some favorites in this house, cider, apples, cider donuts, and pumpkins! How do you feel about Fall? Do you have a favorite season? I like things about them all. I miss my summers when my boys were younger. Pool days, swim meets, creek exploring, picnics, and the pond. Now my summers are very different and it is kinda hard to accept. I love this new stage but miss the old stage.
By the time the paper comes out this week, our second school supply give away has happened. I have to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our donors. We are just members of the community looking to give back. The way the community reaches out to help, means so much. Thank you for making this possible again this year! It may just look like pens and pencils to some, but the smiles it brings to those kids and parents makes it so valuable. I spent three hours shopping on Tuesday. Then another two hours organizing everything. My table is full and so is my heart.
Seward Farmers and Artisans Market is running in September on the following dates; September 9, and September 23. September 9 will be our Cruise in! Bring down your favorite car. Look at the other cars there and share stories.
Seward town garage sale day is next Saturday on the 29. This will also go with Farm Family day. There will be a lot of foot traffic. You still have time to get your sale added to the list, see Brenda Southworth. Want to rent a table at the town barn? There will be a $10 fee and will be in the map of sales too!.
Family Farm day is on August 29, across the county. Brenda Southworth has some flyers and pamphlets at the town barn, or go to the Cornell Cooperative Extension website to see all the farms participating in this great day!
This week is a busy one in our home.
We are gearing up for Roseboom Power Days. This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm. Stop in for some free family fun. Look at the tractors and antiques. Shop the vendors and grab a bite to eat. We will be there to feed you and now offer Iced Mocha Lattes, and fresh brewed iced tea too! We hope to see you there.
Last week our family attended the fair.
Yes we are one of those people who go each night. We enjoyed the concert on Wednesday. My boys love the Derby, that was a three night event. Aly was able to see her first derby, I must keep ear plugs for her near. Jeremy loves his truck and tractor pulls. His favorite is out of left field. He was even joined by our friend Steven Smith and Dalton's friend Sam Frisch. Thank you to everyone who puts in all the hard work. Putting on an event of this size is a large undertaking. We, as a family, look forward to it each year.
