Last Monday morning during the same time period, it poured for about an hour in Summit, there was a short thunderstorm in Cobleskill and no rain at all in Middleburgh, crazy. Then the rain continued for two more days.
Years ago I asked George Haslun what he liked about living in Summit; he said “it doesn’t flood.”
Went to my granddaughters Girl Scout flying-up ceremony going from Daisies to Brownies for Troop # 5613 of Cobleskill. The troop is a combined troop of Daisies, Brownies and Junior Girl Scouts lead by Kim Hoop and Amanda Sword. Photo of the troop.

February 7, 1973 Schenectady Gazette - Petitions will be circulated .and informational, meetings planned for a proposed merger between Cobleskill and Richmondville Central Schools, which would eventually result in a joint school board and administration and possibly in a new high school… The Summit Fire Department will sponsor an information meeting to be held 8 p.m., Feb. 13 at the fire hall; Summit Senior Citizens 7 p.m., Feb. 23 at Johnson's Restaurant; Summit Exchange Club at their meeting Feb. 26 at Johnson's Restaurant. (20 years later the schools were merged)
