GILBOA — End Of the Lane Farm's proprietor, Jay Sharkey, gave his perspective on dairy farming in the Catskills these days at the Gilboa Museum last week. 

He captivated the audience with his story of restarting his 125-year-old family farm, and the challenges he faces in making it work. After he gave his background, he answered questions from an eager and informed audience. Lots of people around here love cows, and appreciate the many skills, hard work and imagination it takes to run a working farm today.
