JEFFERSON - The Jefferson Historical Society will be busy throughout Jefferson Heritage Day on Saturday, July 11, with activities taking place at several locations around the village.
The Nicholas J. Juried Museum of Jefferson History, located on the second floor of Judd Hall, will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visitors can explore exhibits highlighting Jefferson's rich history and view many recently added displays.
During the same hours, the Society will host a Quilt Show in the sanctuary of the Jefferson Methodist Church at 158 Main Street. The display will feature a variety of beautiful quilts and showcase the craftsmanship and traditions of quilting.
In the Maple Museum at 221 Creamery Street from 10am to 2pm you can view displays about the history of local education and see puppets created by the Jefferson Art Room for the parade.
The historic Fuller District One-Room Schoolhouse will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., giving visitors an opportunity to experience what education was like for Jefferson students more than a century ago.
Throughout the day, be sure to stop by the Jefferson Historical Society's information table on the Town Green to learn more about the Society's programs, publications, museum, and upcoming events.
The day's activities will conclude with a free concert by Sue's Garage beginning at 7:30 p.m. under the big tent on the Town Green. Bring a lawn chair or your dancing shoes and enjoy an evening of great music as part of the Heritage Day celebration.
