MARGARETVILLE — The Village of Margaretville has been awarded $4.5 million through the NY Forward program! The funding will support downtown Margaretville in attracting businesses, residents, and visitors, while providing a higher quality of life for all residents. With technical assistance from the State and guidance from a Local Planning Committee (LPC) and the public, Margaretville will develop a Strategic Investment Plan identifying projects that advance a shared vision for downtown revitalization.
First Local Planning Committee Meeting: Mon. July 13, 2026 (6:30-8:30 PM)
The NY Forward planning process is led by an LPC made up of local and regional leaders, stakeholders, and community representatives reflecting a range of community interests.
The first LPC meeting will take place on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 6:30-8:30 PM at Margaretville Telephone Company located at 61 Academy Street. All LPC meetings are open to the public, and there will be an opportunity for public comments and questions at the end.
The meeting will provide an overview of the NY Forward program, next steps in the planning process, and additional opportunities for public input. We invite all residents, business owners, and community members to attend.
Stay Tuned for the Open Call for Projects
The LPC will soon issue an open call for project ideas from public, private, and nonprofit applicants. Interested parties are encouraged to submit a project form to be considered for NY Forward funding. More details will be available soon. Stay tuned!
