BOVINA — Andrew “Crutches” Krutz bats a ball while Bovina Dairymen catcher, Marshall LaPierre looks on during an 1867 rules double-header during Bovina Day festivities last Saturday. Despite the contest being bookended by thunderstorms, the teams managed to fit in a 7 and a 5 inning affair with the short-handed M.A.C. prevailing with the aid from a loaned right fielder from the host club the Bovina Dairymen. The Dairymen hit the road to stops in Genesee Country Village in Mumford NY then onto The Worlds Tournament at Greenfield Village on the grounds of the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI. The M.A.C. meet the Ulster Nine on neutral ground in a special match for the Town of Conesville on Saturday, August 1, 11am on Buel Road in Gilboa. Admission is free.
