MIDDLEBURGH - Middleburgh Central School will be losing 140 years of experience to retirements at the end of the school year.
The district honored last week five employees in various positions who are retiring on June 30.
School board members held a reception for the retirees at their school board meeting Wednesday evening.
School board President Pam Standhart and Superintendent Mark Place gave flowers to the retirees who were in attendance.
Retiring at the end of the school year are:
* Science teacher Susan Albright, with 31 years.
* Elementary school teacher Terry Burton, with 32 years.
* School counselor Kelly Pacatte, with 29 years.
* Groundskeeper Dale Urrey, with 24 years.
* Bus driver Michael Wilkens, with 24 years (two tenures at MCS).

In other action, board members:
* Increased the hours for teacher aide Jamie Dunn from half to full-time.
* Named Maureen Sniffen as teaching assistant beginning September 1 and ending no later than June 30, 2027.
* Appointed Jeanne Sheehan as a part-time teaching assistant beginning on September 1 and ending no later than June 30, 2027.
* Named Lillian Barsale as a part-time teaching assistant starting on September 1 and ending no later than June 30, 3027.
* Appointed Tracy Manning to a four-year probationary appointment as an elementary school teacher starting on July 1.
* Named Melinda Narzymski to a dual appointment to the positions of special education and English teacher starting on September 1.
