The annual Chicken BBQ sponsored by the West Kill/Lexington Community Improvement Association was wonderful and so delicious.  The ice cream donated by Stewart’s in Haines Falls was greatly appreciated and so good.   Thank you to everyone who came to support the WKLCIA.

Saturday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be a Yard Sale at the West Kill/Lexington Community Hall, 141 Spruceton Road, West Kill.  You may sign up for your table by emailing friendsoflexington@gmail.com.  BYOTable for an outside spot is $10 and $20 for an indoor spot with table included.  Proceeds benefit WKLCIA.

The Kaaterskill UMC free will offering Annual Roast Beef and Strawberry Shortcake Church Supper is Tuesday, June 16 at the Tannersville Rescue Squad Building.  Sit down dinners are back.  Dinner seating is 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and takeouts are 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Sunday, June 21 head over to Tannersville for the 28th Annual Father’s Day Cruisin’ on the Mountain Top Car Show with antique and classic vehicles starting at 10 a.m.

Senior Outing in the Park, sponsored by Greene County Department of Human Services, will be held Friday, June 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Angelo Canna Town Park, Cairo.  There will be food, fun and games.  Reservations are required one week in advance by calling 518-622-9898.  Suggested voluntary contribution for a meal is $4.  Bringing your own lawn chair is highly suggested.

Monthly Medicare Minutes gives you insights into the latest Medicare topics so you can stay informed, understand your benefits and make the most of your Medicare coverage.  Representatives will be available with information and for questions at 11:45 a.m. at the senior service centers:  First Tuesday of the month, Acra Community Center, 518-622-9898; second Tuesday of the month, Rivertown Senior Center, 518-945-2700; third Tuesday of the month, Robert Antonelli Senior Center, 518-943-1343; fourth Tuesday of the month, Town of Coxsackie Senior Center, 518-731-8901 and the fourth Friday of the month at the Jewett Municipal Building, 518-263-4392. Lunch is served at noon and open to all Greene County residents age 60 and older.  A voluntary contribution of $4 is suggested for the meal. Please call the center of your choice at least a day in advance to reserve a meal.

The following events are sponsored by the Greene County Veterans Service Agency and Greene County Vet-2-Vet.  They are dedicated to supporting Greene County Veterans and their families and provide a wide range of services: Vet2Vet coffee hour—every Monday at 10:30 a.m.; Vet2Vet Veteran and Family Support Group—every Tuesday, 1 p.m.; Vet2Vet Writers Group—every Friday, 10:30 a.m.;  Veterans Monthly Roundtable—third Tuesday of the month, 4:30 p.m; Veteran and Family Bowling Night—Saturday, June 20, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hoe Bowl Lanes, Catskill “Father’s Day Bowling.”  All services unless otherwise noted, take place at the new Greene County Veterans Center, 300 Route 23B, Leeds building.  Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Greene County Senior Nutrition Program menu for the week of June 15 – June 19 is as follows: Monday—Chicken Dijon, Tuscan vegetables, mashed potatoes, fruit cocktail; Tuesday—Salisbury meatballs, roasted corn and peppers, egg noodles, pears (dinner roll with gluten); Wednesday—Stuffed peppers, Brussels sprouts, white rice, vanilla mousse; Thursday—Father’s Day Lunch—Turkey dinner with gravy, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, chocolate tuxedo cake; Friday—Tuna macaroni salad, over mixed greens, cucumbers and tomatoes, coleslaw, fresh fruit.  All persons 60 and older are invited to attend.  Meals served at noon, suggested $4 donation for each meal.  Congregate reservations are required by noon at least a day in advance.  If you reserve a meal and are unable to attend, please call as soon as you can to cancel.  The number to call for the Senior Service Center at the Jewett Municipal Building, 3547 Route 23C, Jewett is 518-263-4392.

The date and time of the Fellowship Lunch that is held in the Kaaterskill UMC, Main Street, Tannersville, has changed to the first Tuesdays of the month from noon to 3 p.m.  Stop by for a free meal and fellowship.  Next meal will be July 7.

Mark your calendars for the next great fundraiser for the West Kill/Lexington Community Improvement Association—the Thunder in the Mountains Car Show on Saturday, July 25, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the grounds of the Town of Lexington Municipal Building, 3542 Route 42, Lexington.

There will be “Story Time – A Time and Space for Magic” on Mondays 10:30 a.m. at the Mountain Top Library, 6093 Main Street, Tannersville in July and August.  If you have questions, please call 518-589-5707.
