Pay What You Wish Week at Fort June 28 - July 4

SCHOHARIE - Join us at The Old Stone Fort Museum, 145 Fort Road, Schoharie, NY 12157, for Pay What You Wish Week, taking place Sunday, June 28 through Saturday, July 4, as we celebrate America's Semiquincentennial.

Throughout the week, admission to the museum and all on-site programs will be by donation, allowing visitors to contribute as much or as little as they wish. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of activities, including guided tours, hands-on experiences, educational programs, living history demonstrations, and special events for all ages.

Whether you're a history enthusiast, looking for a family-friendly outing, or simply searching for something new to explore, Pay What You Wish Week offers countless opportunities to experience Schoharie County's rich history while commemorating our nation's 250th anniversary. Food trucks will be on site throughout the week, offering refreshments and meal options for visitors to enjoy.

  • Fort Building Competition: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

  • Local History Trivia: 5:30 PM

Monday, June 29 - Stars, Stripes, and Civics

  • Museum Open: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

  • Militia Training: 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM

Tuesday, June 30 - Eagle Lecture and Paint Social

  • Museum Open: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

  • Patriotic Painting Social: 5:30 PM

Wednesday, July 1 - Touch-a-Truck

Celebrate Independence Day with a full day of living history programs and patriotic activities.

  • Flag Raising: 10:00 AM
  • Militia Training: 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM
  • Readings of the Declaration of Independence: 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM
  • Tavern Toasts: 3:30 PM (or following the second reading)
