Poet Heather Bartlett To Read at SUNY Oneonta

ONEONTA -- As part of the Fall 2026 Red Dragon Reading Series at the SUNY College at Oneonta, Ithaca-based poet Heather Bartlett will read from her work on Tuesday, November 10, at 7:00 pm in the Martin-Muller Art Gallery on the SUNY Oneonta campus. Her reading will be followed by a Q & A session and a reception. Admission to the event is free, and members of the community are encouraged to attend.

Heather Bartlett is a poet, writer, and professor. She is the author of the poetry collection, Another Word for Hunger. New York Times bestselling author Maggie Smith praises Bartlett’s book for the way it explore “the intricacies of desire, memory, and perspective—and the ways language can both fail us and save us,” calling it “an exciting debut collection.”

Bartlett is a professor of English and Creative Writing at the State University of New York College at Cortland, where she teaches in the Professional Writing Program and directs Cortland’s visiting writers series, Distinguished Voices in Literature. She is the founding editor of the online literary magazine Hoxie Gorge Review. Her poetry and prose can be found in print and online in journals such as the Los Angeles Review, Ninth Letter, RHINO Poetry.

More information about the Red Dragon Reading Series is available from Dr. Roger Hecht of the SUNY Oneonta Department of English at (607) 436-3033.
