PRATTSVILLE – The Zadock Pratt Museum will be opening up on Saturday May 23 for the 2026 Season. Our hours for 2026 are 11 am to 4 pm every weekend until mid-October. In addition, the museum will be open on Memorial Day (May 25) at 11 AM to participate in the Memorial Day parade in Prattsville. The museum will also be opening the Mountain Top Tribute to our local Veterans. The museum is working with the Prattsville’s Virgil E Deyo American Legion Post #1327 on this event.
The event will be presented in the main museum in our special room that was once part of the Zadock Pratt’s Prattsville Bank. The goal is to provide a central exhibit of the local Mountain Top residents who served in the various services: US Navy, US Army, US Air Force, US Marine Corps, US Coast Guard and the US Space Force. Families are welcome to submit more than one tribute per family; grandparents and great grandparents are also welcome. The exhibit will run through the end of June. The Pratt family had a well-documented history of serving the United States during Zadock’s lifetime and also during his son’s lifetime. The board felt that it would be a fantastic way to pay tribute to the families of the local Mountain Top and to tie into the banners that many of the local towns are now displaying. The Prattsville American Legion Post 1327, Virgil E Deyo has been displaying the banners for several years now.
The following towns, villages, and hamlets were invited: Prattsville, Grand Gorge, Lexington, Gilboa, Conesville, West Conesville, Westkill, Ashland, Jewett, Blenheim and Windham. If interested, we ask that you submit a copy (no original photos please) of the Honorably Discharged service member in uniform in a simple 8.5” x 11” or 9” x12” inch black frame along with another like frame with a brief bio of the service member. A copy of a newspaper article can also be used and although we would prefer the bio to be typed, handwritten stories will also be accepted. Once again, families can submit one for each service member. If you do not have frames, please include $10 and we will purchase frames for you. If you are unable to drop off your tribute at the museum in Prattsville, you can mail the photo and Bio to the Museum at: PO Box 333, Prattsville NY 12468, We do ask that if you are mailing the information, that you include a check for $10 (payable to Zadock Pratt Museum) to help cover the cost of the frames.
Exhibits can be dropped off at the Museum at 14540 NY Route 23, Prattsville, NY 12468 or at 52 Knob Hill Rd. Prattsville NY
