SCHOHARIE - Members of the Schoharie Promotional Association held their annual organizational meeting last week and elected officers and set the dates for events.

Elected as officers were:

* Co-Presidents: Darlene Patterson and Diana Jackson.

* Vice President: Mary Kruger.

* Treasurer: Chuck Alescio.

* Secretary: Colleen Quirion.

The members also set a calendar of events.

Events planned for this year are:

* Winter season (weather permitting) -- Ice skating in Fox Creek Park (facilitated by Floyd Guernsey).

* February and March -- Donation Drive.

* April -- Lily Park cleanup.

* April 26 -- Spring Adopt a Highway cleanup (Routes 30 and 443).

* May – Little League team sponsorship.

* May 20 -- Planting Main Street flower barrels (with donations by Schoharie Valley Farms and Oak Hill Landscaping).

* June -- Schoharie Central scholarship awards.

* July 12 – Eighth Annual Lily Festival, featuring “The Birds and the Bees.”

* August 1 and 15 – Summer concerts (to be announced).

* September – Luau and pig roast at Wayward Lane Brewing (date TBA).

* October – Fall home and business decorating contest.

* October 18 – Fall Adopt-a-Highway cleanup (Routes 30 and 443).

* November 28 through the holiday season – Lights in Fox Creek Park.

* December – Holiday home and business decorating contest.

A number of projects are under consideration for 2025.

The public is encouraged to attend the Promotional Association’s meetings on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 in Town Hall.
