SCS Students Learn How to Deal with Stress

SCHOHARIE - Schoharie students last week learned about the ins and outs of stress - and capped off their lesson with a game of charades based on positive stress coping strategies.

The lesson is part of a curriculum delivered by Schoharie County Council on Alcohol and Substance Abuse. The program runs for 10 weeks with SCCASA educators meeting with each class in grades 3 through 5.

The classes, led by Danielle Trendell explored what stress is, what causes it and coping strategies - both positive and negative.

The classes explored ways to focus on positive coping strategies, with the charade game leaving classmates guessing as to what strategy they were using.
