STAMFORD — The Stamford Rod and Gun Club has announced it will host its annual Kids Fishing Derby in early June, offering local youth a morning of free outdoor recreation and competitive prizes.
The community event is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. until noon at Rexmere Pond in Stamford. According to organizers, the derby will take place rain or shine.
Admission to the event is free for all participants. To encourage participation from children who may not have their own outdoor gear, the Stamford Rod and Gun Club will supply all necessary bait for the day and will provide a limited number of fishing poles available for attendees to borrow on-site.
Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the event. Organizers noted that the prize selection features a variety of outdoor gear, including new fishing poles, tackle boxes, lures, and assorted fishing equipment.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend and participate alongside their children.
