SEWARD — The cool breeze blew in a few special visitors on July 15th. The Seward Farmers and Artisans market welcomed Santa and Mrs. Claus, riding in on their Harleys. They entered the market from Route 10, and you could even hear Jingle Bells! Adults and children alike stood with wondrous eyes and waving hands.
As Mr. and Mrs. Claus took their seats in front of a decorative Christmas tree, donated by Sunstruck Farm, the Grinch surprised them! How did he know to find them in Seward? They all worked as a team greeting kids and families who wished to get a photo with them.
I felt the excitement, love, and magic of Christmas, on this special night in Seward. People who work together to make amazing things happen like this, are my kind of people. The smiles were endless and the magic of the season was felt by all. There is even a video of them driving into the market on the fb page Seward Farmers and Artisans Market, if you wish to see it. Thank you to Santa and Mrs. Claus for coming. We know how precious your time is and fitting us in means the world. Santa even told us his favorite cookie is chewy oatmeal raisin. Mrs. Claus said Santa will begin his cookie training for the season around the end of October, beginning of November. The Grinch was on his best behavior befriending shoppers and posing for photos. Thank you to the Grinch for sharing your night with us and making kids and adults smile!
The Sharon Pathfinders Snowmobile club was also there to share about their club. If you join a club, insurance and registration is cheaper on snowmobiles. It also helps to maintain the trails. The cost for a year is $40. Thank you for bringing
the snowmobile trailer and snowmobiles for everyone to look at. Ray took three different trips to get all the display items down.
The market also had two different food trailers to choose from. Wake N Baked Up, Owner Trica Lory, has been with us for two seasons now. My favorite thing from them is the cheesey chic. My husband and Dalton love the IDK potato. Larson likes the sausage sandwich, no veggies. Trica just added cheesecake to her menu this year too! The other food truck was JD's Chicken. Owners are Jessica and Danny Harrington. My family all agrees they have a good chicken dinner! They even added nachos to the menu this year!
The market had a variety of different vendors and different products. Damin Farm just started this year with veggies, hot sauces, pickles and more. Oops A Daisy Farm, also started this year. They have goat milk soap, and lotions. You can even grab some farm fresh eggs. Ooh Fudge is back! We are the only Farmers market they can fit in with their summer commitments. Black Willow Pond came back with fresh pork, beef and chicken. Sunstruck is back with beautiful pottery, honey, and lavender. Four Elements farm is new this year. Jessica offers fresh produce, my husband lives the sugar snaps. The chocolate milk man is back! You guessed it, Duane Spaulding is there with 97 Milk. Bill Toohey was there with his beautiful bracelets and wooden creations. Piggy Pop was there with their fresh squeezed lemonade, they usually have kettle corn, but cow moving took president that night. Pig Out was there with fresh baked goods, soft sourdough and new Iced Mocha Lattes.
The market will run till the end of October . Each market has a different theme. This is a free market for people to come and enjoy the experiences. To be a vendor, you must have insurance and $10 for your spot. We are looking to add more vendors too, shoot me a message on fb to join. Our next market is July 29 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. The theme for the week is Jeep club! Bring your Jeep or stop in to shop, grab dinner, and visit.
