Trooper Neumuth Visits Margaretville Students with Message of Smart Choices and Responsible Communication

MARGARETVILLE – Margaretville Central School recently welcomed New York State Trooper Timothy Neumuth, School and Community Outreach Coordinator for Troop C, for an engaging and timely presentation focused on responsible decision-making, social media awareness, and the harmful effects of rumors, gossip, and negative behavior on school communities.

Trooper Neumuth is well known throughout Upstate New York for his work with schools, youth organizations, and community groups. Through his outreach efforts, he helps students better understand the real-world consequences of their choices while encouraging them to think critically, act responsibly, and contribute positively to their schools and communities.

Margaretville Central School invited Trooper Neumuth to speak with students as part of the district's ongoing commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and respectful learning environment. His message centered on the importance of treating others with kindness, thinking carefully before posting or sharing information online, and understanding how rumors, gossip, and hurtful comments can affect both individuals and the broader school community.

Throughout the presentation, students were encouraged to reflect on the power of their words and actions, both in person and on social media. Trooper Neumuth emphasized that every student plays a role in shaping school culture and that making thoughtful, respectful choices can have a lasting positive impact.

Jeremy Marks, building administrator for student operations and activities, coordinated the visit and emphasized the value of bringing community partners into the school to support student growth and development.

"Trooper Neumuth's presentation gave our students an important opportunity to hear firsthand about the impact their choices can have on themselves and others," said Jeremy Marks, building administrator for student operations and activities. "His message about kindness, respect, and responsible use of social media aligned closely with the values we strive to reinforce every day. We appreciate his willingness to engage with our students and help strengthen our school community."

Margaretville Central School extends its sincere appreciation to Trooper Neumuth and the New York State Police for their partnership and continued commitment to educating and supporting young people throughout the region.

By providing opportunities for students to hear directly from community leaders and role models, Margaretville Central School remains dedicated to helping students develop the character, judgment, and leadership skills necessary for success both inside and outside the classroom.
