WIOX’s Reynolds Attends Cowtown Society of Western Music

WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS — The renowned western swing fiddler Brady Bowen, who is also the head of the Cowtown Society Of Western Music, holds an award show every year to honor some of the western swing music greats.  Local radio host Alan Reynolds from WIOX Community Catskills in Roxbury, got a personal request from Brady Bowen to attend this year's show in Wichita Falls, Texas on July 24th and 25th.  

Some of the categories recognized in the awards list include Living Legends, Heroes Of Western Swing, Band Of The Year, Disc Jockey Of The Year and the list goes on.  

Alan did not receive an award this year since he had previously been honored in 2023.  

He did report spending a good deal of time with many of the artists there such as Jimmy Burson, the great guitar player Joe Settlemires, Keith Phillips, Chuck Cusimano, Caesar Ozuna, Reggie Reuffer and so many more that you can regularly hear on Alan's shows Pure Country, Saturday afternoons from 4:00PM Eastern Time until 6:00 Eastern Time as well as The Radio Truck Stop, Sunday evenings from 10PM Eastern Time until Midnight Eastern Time at 91.3FM or listen to the live stream.  Radio personality Billy Bowles from KSSL Radio in Slayton, Texas did most of the announcing and awards presentations.
