In Memory of David A. Holt

March 13, 1964 to July 5, 2026

Schenectady County (Delanson): David A. Holt 62, of Western Turnpike, passed away unexpectedly at his place of work on Sunday, July 5th, 2026 after being stricken suddenly.

Dave was born March 13, 1964 in Cobleskill, NY to Milton R. and Patricia (Mamrosh) Holt.  He graduated from Schoharie High School, class of 1982 and briefly attended Morrisville College.  He began his long working career first with Rodewig Chevrolet and later, Gary Morgan Chevrolet before venturing off on his own at Esperance Auto Electric where he built a faithful customer base that lasted 40 years.   He had a strong work ethic that was obvious to anyone that called on his expertise.  Only Dave could be found on a Sunday morning keeping a keen eye on his business.  He was a life-member of the NRA and an avid firearms collector. He enjoyed the races at Fonda Speedway, NASCAR (Mark Martin), toy tractor shows, a huge John Deere collector (toys and the real thing), casino trips, farm tractor shows, attending the NY Steam Engine Association meets, taking care of his property, good food, and spending time with his beloved family.

Survivors include: his wife; Kelly Largeteau-Holt, whom he married May 23, 1987, his daughters; Stephanie Jeanne (Nicholas) Ferri of Howes Cave, and Ciera Marie Holt of East Berne, 2 grandchildren; Colton and Payton Ferri, 2 grand-pups, Winnie and Denali, his siblings; Robert Holt of Cobleskill, Chris Holt of Central Bridge, and Jennifer Holt of Central Bridge, and his aunt, Martha Mamrosh of Central Bridge. He will be fondly remembered by his many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and circle of friends.  Dave was predeceased by his parents and his aunt, Sandra Mamrosh.

In honor of David’s love of racing and tractors, family and friends are encouraged to wear their favorite race or tractor shirt to the service in place of traditional funeral attire. A period of visitation will be held from 11AM to 2PM on Friday, July 17th at the Langan Funeral Home, 327 Main Street Schoharie followed by a memorial service at 2PM.  A celebration of Dave’s life will follow at the Esperance Elks Lodge.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of David to: the Leatherstocking Honor Flight, PO Box 621, Cobleskill, NY 12043, OR to the NY Steam Engine Association, Inc., PO Box 1149, Canandaigua, NY 14424, OR to the Hudson-Mohawk Chapter of the Pioneer Gas Engine Association, Inc. (Gas-Up), PO Box 393, Schoharie, NY 12157.
