In Memory of Sharon Ann Jenkins Nesbitt

May 22, 1944 to June 21, 2026

Sharon Ann Jenkins Nesbitt peacefully passed away under the loving care of her family on June 21, 2026 after a brief illness. 

Sharon was born on May 22, 1944, in Cobleskill, NY to parents Orrie George Jenkins and Phoebe Geraldine (Millias) Jenkins. The youngest of eight children, Sharon grew up in East Worcester, NY and graduated from Worcester High School. 

She married her loving husband Thomas Nesbitt on January 17, 1976. Over the years, Sharon worked as a secretary for New York State, at Stewarts in Middleburgh, Napa Auto Parts and Wilson Insurance both in Cobleskill, New Hampshire Insurance and Merchants Insurance, both in Albany, and also as a Beeline sales rep for several years and was a member of the CB club. Sharon was a long-time member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Middleburgh where she led the annual pie sale, served as financial secretary, was part of the Phoebe’s Circle and was a member of the choir. She was President of the Timothy Murphy Post # 248 American Legion Lady’s Auxiliary, was treasurer of the Schoharie Valley Piecemakers Quilt Guild, volunteered as a NY State Poll representative and also with the Joshua Project summer lunch program.  She enjoyed participating in the Marathon for a Better Life cancer walk, was a dedicated Girl Scout leader in younger years and also enjoyed ceramics for many years, including making and painting a Christmas Nativity. 

Sharon is survived by her beloved husband: Thomas Nesbitt; daughters: Tamara Guerrero, Nicole (Matthew) Brown-Bruette: granddaughters: Leanne Brown and Sophia Brown; step-grandchildren: Lucas Bruette and Annabelle Bruette; numerous nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Sharon was predeceased by her parents; brothers: Warren (Dianne) Jenkins, Robert (Jean) Jenkins, George Jenkins, Gerald (Hazel) Jenkins, Harold (Gail) Jenkins; sisters: Elizabeth (John) Esolen and Barbara Jenkins; nephew: Gerald W. Jenkins, Jr.; nieces: Jackie Lynn Revis and Barbara Jenkins.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to her great-nephew Christopher Birsen for providing exceptional care in her final days.

She will always be her husband’s guardian angel and a light of faith and love to all who knew her.

All are invited to visit with Sharon's family from 5:00-7:00PM on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Coltrain Funeral Home, 134 River Street Middleburgh.  A Funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, June 26, 2026 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 326 Main Street, Middleburgh.
