Walter H. Peck, Jr. “JR”, 64, of Bloomville, NY, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown with his wife by his side.
Born on January 22, 1962, in Catskill, NY, JR was the son of the late Walter and Violet (Lane) Peck.
He married Kara Soule on October 13, 1990.
JR was at Marick Farms for over 36 years as a farm hand until his recent retirement.
JR loved being outdoors, often you could find him hunting, fishing, working on the farm and spending time with his beloved dog, Princess. JR was also a long-time member of the Bloomville Fire Department.
Besides his parents, JR was predeceased by his sister: Terry Torwan; along with his brothers-in-law: Jerry Osborn, Robert Yager and Del Martinez.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 35 years, Kara S. Peck of Bloomville; his siblings: Joann (Jim) De Varner, Linda Osborn, Lorraine (Dan) Ford, Diane Yager, Gary Peck and Rose Knott; brothers-in-law: Robert Torwan, John Paul Biassutto, Larry “Bucky” (Betty) Soule and Jon (Beverly) Soule; uncles: Alfred (Marge) Peck and Sherman (Diane) Lane; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate JR’s life from 1PM-4PM on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the Bloomville Fire Hall, 243 Scotch Hill Road, Bloomville, NY 13739.
Kara would like to thank the “Comfort Care Staff” at Bassett Medical Center along with her friends and family in the Bloomville Area, especially Tommy Mason, and her co-workers at McDonalds for all their help and care.
