Mountain Top Cares Coalition, a Recovery Community Organization (RCO) serving Greene County, New York.
Mountain Top Cares Coalition is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and their loved ones impacted by alcohol and substance use disorders, as well as other addiction-related challenges. We provide non-clinical services, including certified peer support, education, referrals, social networks, and advocacy. Our mission is to empower those we serve, promote and sustain recovery, prevent addiction, and reduce harm and stigma. We envision a community where the instances and impact of alcohol and substance use disorders is significantly reduced, and recovery is not only possible but celebrated. A community where everyone seeking recovery has access to high-quality care and the resources they need to achieve their goals and thrive.
We believe:
Addiction is a chronic brain disease. Recovery is possible. Every life has value. We can best accomplish our mission with a neighbor helping neighbor approach. Providing a stigma free and non-discriminatory environment is needed for full recovery.
Our Services
The main role of a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) is to provide one-on-one support directly to folks in recovery or struggling with substance use. These amazing peers bring their wisdom, professional training, and personal experiences with recovery to the table, and can help improve your engagement with treatment and your dedication to recovery. CRPAs also help you establish relationships with other community-based recovery resources that compliment and align with your treatment, recovery, and discharge plans.
Learn about this life saving medication for emergency situtations. We offer training, distribution and community accessible Narcan Kits which play a vital role in mitigating opioid overdose deaths.
A specialized peer-support program catered to women who are navigating their journey towards recovery from substance use disorders (SUDs).
Women can face different barriers, have need for special specific services, and might wish to explore redefining different relationships and self narratives on their path to recovery. MCC is in the process of forming a new group for women and we encourage you to reach out to our Women in Recovery Coordinator, Mary Ellen Holtzman to sign up for the next session at crpa@mountaintopcarescoalition.com.
Family & Loved Ones Support Group
Around 20 million people and their families face addiction or substance use disorders annually. This issue can impact anyone, anywhere, and it poses challenges for those caring, living with, or loving someone with addiction. Understanding addiction, treatment, and recovery can aid in connecting with and supporting loved ones on their journey. The effects of experiencing addiction second-hand can be long-lasting, making the lives of those closest to the individual difficult and overwhelming, regardless of their recovery stage.
