SCHOHARIE — The Schoharie Library’s annual Quilts in Bloom Quilt and Flower Show is scheduled for June 4-24. The Schoharie Valley Piecemakers Quilt Guild and friends will exhibit a variety of colorful handmade quilts throughout the library. Schoharie Valley Garden Club members will create coordinating arrangements featuring flowers from their own gardens, which will be on display June 10-13.

The quilts vary in size and style, from several feet wide to smaller wall hangings and table decorations - and each is a work of art. They feature many techniques and patterns, from new and innovative to traditional or historic. 

The flower arrangements will be designed to reflect the themes and colors of the quilts. The Piecemakers and the Garden Club have been collaborating to brighten the Schoharie Library with their gorgeous creations since 2018.

The public is invited to Afternoon Tea on Friday, June 12, 3-4:30pm. This is a great chance to enjoy tea, lemonade, and cookies with friends, surrounded by beautiful quilts and flowers. Feel free to wear a hat or dress up (optional).

No RSVP is required for this free event. 

The Schoharie Library’s Basket Raffle Fundraiser will also be going on during and after the show, with many locally-produced items available.

All are welcome to view the quilts and flowers during regular library hours: Tuesday, 10am-8pm; Wednesday, 12pm-7pm; Thursday and Friday, 11am-6pm; and Saturday, 10am-2pm. Closed Sunday and Monday.
