CAIRO – On January 14, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911  call at a private residence in the Town of Cairo for a sexual assault complaint. An  investigation commenced, which concluded on February 17, 2026. As a result, The  Sheriff’s Office has arrested 37-year-old Dominick Utano, of Cairo. Utano was  charged with Predatory Sexual Assault (A-II felony), Rape in the 1st Degree (B  Felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A Misdemeanor). Utano is alleged  to have forcibly engaged in sexual contact with a juvenile female victim. Utano was  arraigned before T/J Jacobs, T/Catskill Court and committed to the Greene County  Jail with No bail. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Greene County District  Attorney’s Office and The New York State Police.
