Franklin Man Arrested After Driving with Suspended License

MEREDITH — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a Franklin, New York man.

On Tuesday evening, January 16th, 2024, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a disabled motor vehicle on State Highway 28 and Warner Hill Road in the Town of Meredith. Upon arrival, Sheriff’s Deputies identified the driver as 52-year-old Martin Hart, of Franklin, New York.   
A New York State driver’s license check inquiry revealed that Martin’s driving privileges have been suspended for Failure to Answer a Summons since September of 2023.   
Martin was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the 3rd degree, an unclassified misdemeanor of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. Martin was issued a Traffic Ticket for Unlicensed Operator, a violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.  
Martin was released and directed to appear in the Meredith Town Court at a later date to answer those charges.
