Stamford Man Arrested Following Altercation

Stamford - Today, Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced that a report of an altercation occurring outside of Johns Tavern in the Town of Stamford has resulted in the arrest of 29-year-old Cody Smolin of Stamford, NY.

On Tuesday Morning January 2nd, 2024, Deputies were dispatched to a Harassment complaint   occurring at 87 Main Street in the Village of Stamford. It is alleged that 29-year-old Cody Smolin, of Stamford, had engaged in a course of conduct where they subjected another person to unwanted physical contact. The victim’s harassment complaint was forwarded to the Town of Stamford Court, which was requested to issue a criminal summons for Smolin. 

On Wednesday afternoon, January 3, 2024, Deputies received a criminal summons from the Town of Stamford Court to be issued to Cody Smolin in relation to this incident. Deputies located and arrested Smolin on one count of harassment in the second degree. Smolin was issued a criminal summons directing him to appear before the Town of Stamford Court on a later date to answer the charge.
