With summer finally here and the kids celebrating the last day of school for 2026, it seemed like every family in the Catskill Mountains had the very same idea...
Ice cream!
Now, when my wife Maggie asked where we should take Scout, Rusty, and Pip to celebrate another successful school year, I didn't even have to think about it.
"Let's head to 2 Twisted Ladies in Cairo!"
Located at 618 Main Street in Cairo, New York, 2 Twisted Ladies has become one of those special places that puts a smile on everyone's face the moment they walk through the door. Bright colors, friendly faces, and enough sweet treats to make any kid's eyes light up—it truly feels like summer the second you step inside.
Of course, they're famous for much more than just ice cream, but if you're an ice cream lover, you're in for something special. Their cones are works of art! You can choose from different sizes, but if you ask me, go big or go home!
Each cone is dipped in rich chocolate and then rolled in colorful sprinkles, crushed candies, cookies, or other delicious toppings before it's piled high with your favorite flavors of ice cream. Watching Scout, Rusty, and Pip try to decide what they wanted took longer than it took them to eat it!
By the time everyone had their towering creations, there were smiles from ear to ear... and maybe just a little ice cream on a few beaks.
Maggie laughed as Pip proudly showed off her colorful cone, while Scout insisted his was the biggest. Rusty was too busy enjoying every bite to join the debate.
As for me? Well, let's just say a reporter has to sample the local attractions so I can give my readers an honest review.
I accomplished that mission!
