MIDDLEBURGH - Members of the Oktoberfest Association planted trees in Timothy Murphy Park in Middleburgh on Thursday.
At last year‘s Oktoberfest, the association held a community vote where four to five community projects were listed for people to vote on and tree planting in public spaces and improving Timothy Murphy Park received the most votes.
According to a letter from association member Donald Guest, in May association members agreed to plant trees in the park this week. They planted one red oak tree on the southern side of the pavilion to provide shade and a slight wind block and two red maples along the driveway for aesthetics, especially in the fall.
