Editorial decisions are made separately from advertising, sponsorship, political pressure, and personal interests. Paid placements and advertising are not treated as newsroom coverage.

Our staff combines editorial leadership, local relationships, reporting, customer support, and digital services to keep independent local news moving.
The Mountain Eagle is independently and locally owned. The publication is not owned by any chain, hedge fund, or outside corporate parent. Operations are funded through reader subscriptions, local advertising, and direct investment by the owners. The Mountain Eagle accepts no funding that would compromise its editorial independence, and advertising and sponsorship are kept separate from newsroom decisions.
