Local Marketplace

Sell Local Products

A curated marketplace for new physical goods from producer businesses rooted in our service area.

Marketplace Merchants

A local shelf for accountable producers

The marketplace is built for small businesses that make, grow, roast, bake, package, or craft tangible goods inside the Mountain Eagle service area. It is designed for the kind of local producer readers may meet at a farmers market, community shop, or regional maker event.

Listings are connected to an advertiser company record and managed by a real individual associated with that business. This keeps every offer tied to a local company and a responsible point of contact.

Marketplace scope

  • New, unopened physical products
  • Local producer businesses
  • Local pickup only
  • Business representative accountability
  • No services, subscriptions, or virtual goods
  • No used goods or garage-sale resale
  • No shipping or delivery

Restricted products: cannabis, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, ammunition, fireworks, explosives, batteries, paint, and toxic chemicals.

Eligibility

Before you create listings

Marketplace access is reviewed before a business begins selling.

Operate locally

Your business must be physically located inside our Schoharie, Delaware, Greene, or Ulster County service area.

Connect the company

Your individual account must be associated with the advertiser company record that stands behind each listing.

Sign the agreement

An associated patron may sign the marketplace seller agreement with the business EIN after staff assigns marketplace categories.

Wait for approval

Listing tools unlock after an administrator approves the agreement and your account becomes a merchant.

Product Categories

A useful shelf for small-batch goods

Categories are the marketplace discovery system. Choose the best category for the product itself so shoppers can browse by the kind of goods they want to pick up locally.

Merchant Workflow

From approval to fulfilled order

1

Apply

Associate your local company, then sign the seller agreement once staff assigns marketplace categories.

2

List products

Create product listings and offers with category, availability, and pricing.

3

Publish

Send complete listings into the marketplace once they meet local-commerce rules.

4

Arrange pickup

Prepare paid orders and coordinate local pickup with the buyer. Shipping and delivery are not active.

5

Stay accountable

Keep company contact information, inventory, and customer service accurate.

Role boundary: marketplace merchants operate in the commerce path, not the editorial contributor path. Staff may assist with advertising, but marketplace listings must be created by an individual associated with the merchant business.
