Robert "Rob" Brune is an accomplished photographer, photojournalist, and writer based in Delaware County, New York.

He is a highly prominent figure in the Western Catskills art community, currently serving as the Chief of Arts and Culture for The Mountain Eagle newspaper.

Brune's career bridges decades of heavy documentary field work and a deep immersion into community-focused arts and landscape photography.

Brune started his photojournalism career documenting political landscapes in Washington, D.C.. He extensively covered large-scale social movements, including anti-war protests, the Occupy movement, and Black Lives Matter. His multimedia reporting appeared across major national networks, such as CNN, MSNBC, and PBS Frontline. He also expanded his reporting into political and investigative radio broadcast work on Capitol Hill.

After relocating to upstate New York, he shifted his focus toward landscape photography. He is well-known for his specialized, sepia-toned images capturing the profound stillness and natural architecture of the northwestern Catskills' reservoirs, streams, and mountain valleys.

Brune writes extensive profiles, cultural art reviews, and community news pieces for regional publications like The Mountain Eagle and The Upstate Vibe. He has interviewed well over 100 local creators and frequently reviews new gallery exhibitions across Delaware County

He is deeply active in connecting regional creatives, having launched the local "Artists' Pot Luck" initiative to bring together painters, writers, musicians, and makers.

His fine art photography is regularly shown in local regional spaces.
